Mr.  Ellis, a Texas eminent-domain lawyer whose practice involves representing landowners against the government and private entities seeking to condemn their property, expanded upon the condemnation process and the political forces surrounding the project that ranges from Harris County to Dallas County, Texas. “The high speed rail will present many new and unprecedented damages to Texas property owners” Mr. Ellis noted. For instance, “The high speed rail reports limited access across the rail line. Practically this means property owners may have their properties divided by the railway taking.” At the end of the day, “The high speed rail serves no benefit to the specific property owners that will be forced to give up their land for the project,” Mr. Ellis concluded.
