Texas Lawmaker Aims To Expand Property Rights Protections

House Bill 1496 would include mineral rights in state law’s existing private-property protections regarding government actions such as eminent domain, expanding such property rights beyond those currently given only to surface owners, Taylor, R-Collin, said in a Wednesday statement.
